Virginia beach

We Just got back from vacation. We went to Virginia Beach and had a blast. We saw a sign that caught our eye, and think it should be posted everywhere. If you are caught cursing in Virginia Beach you are fined $75. We bought the sign and are posting it by our front door. We have not decided if we are going to fine anyone yet.

A new Olympic sport

Our crew is growing like crazy. Every day they are learning more and more. This year we are learning world geography, chess, science, reading and math. Along with getting smarter they are picking up chores as well. For instance they put their clothes away, clear the table, unload the silverware from the dishwasher, clean their playroom, sweep the kitchen and now they wipe down their bathroom everyday.

The girls are in charge of the sink and mirror and the boys are in charge of the toilet. Joshua asked why the boys have to clean the toilet; I replied that it is because boys are gross and cannot aim. That is when the idea came... Curling can be an olympic sport why can't boys aiming for the toilet? A lot of women would vote for that addition to the Olympic lineup.

Tea Time!

Last week we girls had tea time. I bought a book at the Homeschooling conference called The world in your tea cup. We chose to have Kenya tea. I got tea from The Steeping Room that is from Kenya. Then I made food that is eaten with tea in Kenya.

The picture is our table, we added peanut and butter sandwiches for the little ones. The boys were around so they had a coffee break with lots of foods from Kenya as well.

All the girl cousins had a great time. All the boys, 8, drank a pot of coffee. The girls,8, drank lots of tea. The winner of consumption went to Autumn who drank 4 cups of tea.

It is finished.

Noel and I made the boys twin beds. We found a design and tweaked it to make sure the beds would not come apart no matter what. Each bed weighs about 80 pounds.

I learned about some really cool tools and I am proud of the finished project, but I am more excited that we are DONE!!!!!

Summer Reading Program Rocks!

The cedar park library has a summer reading program. The kids hit their 200 minute mark this weekend. Tuesday is our library day and so we collected our first prize. A free personal pan pizza from pizza hut. The kids were more than excited. I see a lot of reading in their and my future.

Happy birthday

The triplets turned 5 yesterday and so we went with our friends the Conroy's and Alley's to Brushy Creek Splash Pad. The kids had fun I am amazed at the games my kids think if with water and a cup. They made this game where one threw water in the air and the others caught it.

My crafty Side

I am not an arts person. Glitter is not allowed in my house. I do let them play with play dough so here is a picture to prove I am not all work in school. The table is amazing and I am so glad God sent me a man with so many talents.

Oh no! Now what?

Esther likes to jump off things and climb on things. Well today she got stuck. Being a mother-of-the-year candidate I only thought appropriate to take a few pictures before rescuing her from her own stupidity.

Neat idea!

At church today the kids filled a cross with flowers. Church was good today, because we have a Savior that is risen and wants everyone to join Him.

Memorial dinner.

Today was the funeral for Aunt Mac. She was a very loved woman and loved many people. She got to hold the triplets when they were small. We love you Aunt Mac and we will see you soon.

He even stained the kids names into the table.

Girls room is done!

So yesterday I spent the entire day doing the girl's room. We scraped the ceiling, I painted walls, stenciled, baseboards, closet, closet doors. The room went from off white to nerds colors. The girls are going to love it when they return from nana and papa's house.

Next is the boy's room. They want camouflage and airplanes. I already have my ideas and will soon be preparing for their room.

At least she used it right!

Noel and I were talking the other day that McDonald's has super size, Wendy's has biggie size, jack in the box needs to promote "I want that Jacked up!"
Well Hannah was listening apparently, because she made a mess and I told her she needed to clean it. She replied,"that is Jacked up."
Without laughing I told she still had to clean it up, but was proud she used it in the right context.

What happens when you are smaller!

What happens when you run in my house. Take a corner and run into someone who has a bigger head. Joshua and Esther collided and Esther lost. Joshua has no injuries. Esther looks like she got into a fight.

Can we keep them?

Yesterday our family did yard work. We mowed the lawn, moved lawn furniture, cleaned the outside. Well, Noel and I moved some wood and I found these lizards; meaning I screamed like a little girl when they moved.

Now our children wanted to keep them. Jacob got really close and touched one, meaning he was going to put one in his pocket. There are not reptiles allowed in my house. We were surprised how big the lizards were and that there were two.

Eyes too big for stomach!!!!!

Last night we went to a birthday party for Mike Werle. The kids had a blast watching the chickens next door, trying to kill the only fish in the pond, sorry Emily, and eating. Marti took this picture of Hannah and her normal drama.

Hannah loves making faces when anyone is paying attention to her, last night was not any different.

Practice makes perfect

We have swimmers! Each week at Nitro they get better and better. Well homework for swimming is 5 minutes of leg kicks a day. On their stomaches and then on their butts. Joshua thought that he would at least look cool while doing his kicks. I could not resist.

Tiny tots

Every Monday morning the kids go to Tiny Tots. It is a program done at Austin Baptist Church where Jana Boyd lets the kids play musical instruments and sing and dance to music. She tells a Bible lesson and they pray. At the end of class the kids sing "This little light if mine" and they play with flashlights. I got this picture and thought it priceless and sweet.

Show me your game face!!!!!!

Hannah found Noel's sweat band for his head and she thought she would show me her game face. Here it is!

Hair salon, no not really

So the boys decided that they were going to play hair salon and the hottest hair styles. What ended up happening was Jacob received the haircut and was given two bald spots.

Noel buzzed his head so that his hair would grow back uniformaly.

I love chocolate

While Noel is in travel season he tells our children if they are good there is a treat when he gets home. This week the treat was ice cream from McDonald's. Elijah lost the first day with just being a horrible child, but he got better as the week went by. Esther and Jacob decided it would be funny to laugh, shout and kick each other while in church. Hannah and Joshua were great. Last night after Date Night we took the kids for their treat. Noel thought the three who lost the special treat gain some kind of treat for being better for mommy, they got a cookie. Here are a couple pictures of our adventure.

Two peas in a pod!

I got this picture on Sunday. I could not help it. Jacob is showing Noel and I that he is like Noel. Jacob is very task oriented, everything has a place and there has to be a good reason for things. He is a whiz at math and most days he scares me in school. Jacob's personality is fun to watch form. Enjoy this picture.

Relish, relish!

Have you ever had something that you could not live without? Did you ever eat anything your grandmother made that you had to have?

Well I have several. Mush, cocktail sauce, oven BBQ chicken, spaghetti sauce and relish. Now the relish that my grandmother canned was not made with pickles but green tomatoes. So my mother and I have made relish several times, and each time we run out before the next batch. It is awesome on hotdogs, hamburgers, and in potato salad.

Today we made another batch. The tomatoes were green at sprouts, and all the ingredients were on sale. You know you have an awesome recipe from grandma when you need 1 gallons of green tomatoes how many is that?

Everyone in my family loves it. So we will see who calls first.

The picture is half of what we made, we got 13 jars. That is some awesome condiment in my pantry.

Pops house

We went and saw pops this weekend. The kids had a blast. They walked the dogs, ate donuts, hotdogs, chips, candy, fruit, and fruit loops. You know they had a good time from the light switch cover that we cleaned before we left and the fact that they crashed in the van and the dogs are worn out. Thank you pops for a great weekend, we love you very much.

I cannot get enough!!

Noel and I thought we would spend the weekend with pops, since he had surgery and because we love him. We went to Chili's last night for dinner. The kids ate really well. After dinner Elijah decided that he could not get enough juice. I am scared how their minds work.

My little swimmers

I thought I would share a cute moment that Noel and I enjoy every week. We love our swimmers. They love Nitro Swim in Cedar Park. The instructors are amazing and friendly.

Is Daddy in Houston or Heaven?

Noel has two travel seasons. He spends most of his time in Houston and Beaumont. He started traveling and so the kids ask where daddy is all the time. Here is the conversation that happened.

Kids: mommy where is daddy?

Me: he is in Houston, he will be home tomorrow.

Kids:Daddy is in heaven.

Me: No if daddy was in heaven then that means daddy is dead.

Kids: Oh, we want daddy here.

Me: Daddy is in Houston, he will be home tomorrow.

The funny thing is in my opinion Houston is not even close to heaven.

Can Elijah fire mommy?

Elijah always wants to be in charge. Now that is not good when you are 5, because he is hardly ever in charge. Today he wanted to throw a toy at Jacob I told him no. Well he made a bad choice and had a punishment of no toys for the rest of the day. He went on to tell me that I was fired. With a smile I explained only God could fire me. Elijah told me he would talk to God. I have not heard the outcome but I do not think I am going anywhere, but my resume is ready just in case. You have to love the reasoning skills if a 5 year old.
