Hair salon, no not really

So the boys decided that they were going to play hair salon and the hottest hair styles. What ended up happening was Jacob received the haircut and was given two bald spots.

Noel buzzed his head so that his hair would grow back uniformaly.

I love chocolate

While Noel is in travel season he tells our children if they are good there is a treat when he gets home. This week the treat was ice cream from McDonald's. Elijah lost the first day with just being a horrible child, but he got better as the week went by. Esther and Jacob decided it would be funny to laugh, shout and kick each other while in church. Hannah and Joshua were great. Last night after Date Night we took the kids for their treat. Noel thought the three who lost the special treat gain some kind of treat for being better for mommy, they got a cookie. Here are a couple pictures of our adventure.

Two peas in a pod!

I got this picture on Sunday. I could not help it. Jacob is showing Noel and I that he is like Noel. Jacob is very task oriented, everything has a place and there has to be a good reason for things. He is a whiz at math and most days he scares me in school. Jacob's personality is fun to watch form. Enjoy this picture.

Relish, relish!

Have you ever had something that you could not live without? Did you ever eat anything your grandmother made that you had to have?

Well I have several. Mush, cocktail sauce, oven BBQ chicken, spaghetti sauce and relish. Now the relish that my grandmother canned was not made with pickles but green tomatoes. So my mother and I have made relish several times, and each time we run out before the next batch. It is awesome on hotdogs, hamburgers, and in potato salad.

Today we made another batch. The tomatoes were green at sprouts, and all the ingredients were on sale. You know you have an awesome recipe from grandma when you need 1 gallons of green tomatoes how many is that?

Everyone in my family loves it. So we will see who calls first.

The picture is half of what we made, we got 13 jars. That is some awesome condiment in my pantry.

Pops house

We went and saw pops this weekend. The kids had a blast. They walked the dogs, ate donuts, hotdogs, chips, candy, fruit, and fruit loops. You know they had a good time from the light switch cover that we cleaned before we left and the fact that they crashed in the van and the dogs are worn out. Thank you pops for a great weekend, we love you very much.

I cannot get enough!!

Noel and I thought we would spend the weekend with pops, since he had surgery and because we love him. We went to Chili's last night for dinner. The kids ate really well. After dinner Elijah decided that he could not get enough juice. I am scared how their minds work.

Is Daddy in Houston or Heaven?

Noel has two travel seasons. He spends most of his time in Houston and Beaumont. He started traveling and so the kids ask where daddy is all the time. Here is the conversation that happened.

Kids: mommy where is daddy?

Me: he is in Houston, he will be home tomorrow.

Kids:Daddy is in heaven.

Me: No if daddy was in heaven then that means daddy is dead.

Kids: Oh, we want daddy here.

Me: Daddy is in Houston, he will be home tomorrow.

The funny thing is in my opinion Houston is not even close to heaven.

Can Elijah fire mommy?

Elijah always wants to be in charge. Now that is not good when you are 5, because he is hardly ever in charge. Today he wanted to throw a toy at Jacob I told him no. Well he made a bad choice and had a punishment of no toys for the rest of the day. He went on to tell me that I was fired. With a smile I explained only God could fire me. Elijah told me he would talk to God. I have not heard the outcome but I do not think I am going anywhere, but my resume is ready just in case. You have to love the reasoning skills if a 5 year old.
