Elijah lost his front tooth!

On Sunday during lunch Elijah's top front tooth became very loose. We had to tug a little to get it out. He was excited because of the tooth fairy. Well our house has an awesome tooth fairy. $5 for normal teeth, $20 for top front teeth and $10 for k-9 teeth.

Part 2 of our day

We made it to the strawberry festival. The kids had lunch they ate hotdogs from the booth that was run by the Boy Scouts. We ate fried pickles and snow cones.

Then the kids went on rides. Now you all know by now my kids are fearless and so they were not happy when they could not ride some of the rides because they were too short.

All in all we had a great day. You will see in the pictures the state of my children when I took the picture on the cow and the picture at the minivan when our day was done.

Thank you Pops for a great weekend we love you and were excited to spend the weekend with you.

Part 1 of Saturday's Adventures

We are in San Antonio this weekend for the strawberry festival. Also this weekend is Build N Grow weekend. The kids have a fun day today.

This morning we ate at Krispy Kreme and went inside. Most of the time we eat at a local doughnut shop but not this weekend. The kids saw the glaze machine and got to pick their own doughnuts. The icing was the hats at the end.

Next we went to Build N Grow if you have kids you should really check it out. You register online and you get an apron and a patch for each project and it is FREE. This month they made planters. We could tell we were not in Austin anymore the organization of the event was not the same but the kids had fun. They especially liked the no goggles rule in San Antonio.

We are now going to pick up Pops and go to the festival. More to come!!!

Joshua's Date Night

Pops called last week to ask if he could take one of the kids to a Spurs game. Since Joshua had been acting right we decided to let him go.

We told him on Tuesday that on Wednesday Pops was coming to take him for the night. He was so excited that he got to spend the night with Pops that the game was extra.

Pops had second row seats and the kids and I watched him on TV . He had a great time but did not last the entire game. As Pops said after the popcorn and candy was gone he was ready to go; that was 5 minutes before the game.

If our day was any longer!!!!

Yesterday was a long and eventful day. We did build and grow at Lowes and went to a petting zoo, had dinner with Nanna Gail.

After dinner Gail needed Noel to look at her sprinkler system. The kids had a popsicle while they waited. Then the kids were playing tag when Esther chased Jacob and Jacob ran into the corner of Gail's garden post.

There was crying and some blood. On the way home I bought some butterfly strips for Jacob's head. When we got home we realized his head wound was pretty deep. So back into the truck to go to the emergency room. We went to the new Scott & White Emergency room on 1431. Jacob was seen immediately and they took really good care of him, but we did not get home till 11. We were at the emergency room for 2 hours. They cleaned his wound and then cleaned it again.

Jacob is good but he will have a scar.

Petting Zoo!

Today, was a busy day. We had Build and Grow at Lowe's this morning. Then we went to a petting zoo. The kids held bunnies, hedgehogs, dragon lizard, tortoise, and baby chicks and ducklings. Tonight we have dinner with Nanna Gail to celebrate Noel's birthday, which is Monday.

Superhero party prep

The kids want a superhero/ princess hero party. So I am prepping for that party since I want to make everyone the cool stuff.

Each kid will get a mask, superhero cape, wrist bands, sword/ wand. I am also going to do a scavenger hunt to collect your superhero/princess hero items. I think that i am more excited then the kids.

I have found the mask template that I liked after tweeking several to get the one I like. Here is the first of many pre party posts, so you can be excited with me.

The Results of Homeschooling

On Saturday Noel and I were talking about if we had any plans this weekend. After looking at calendars were found we had nothing in the calendar. We decided that we will go to San Antonio and see pops and do some other things.

I told Noel that the kids wanted to go to the Z-O-O. That is when my 4 year old told her siblings that we were going to the zoo. Spelling with your husband around kids is nice but like everything else your kids grow up and you realize that we lose another form of privacy.

How does that work?

Today we upgrade from toddler toilet to grown-up toilet. Jacob and Hannah were very curious. After today they will know how to take out a toilet, replace a wax ring, put a new screws in, and seal the toilet. My home improvement crew!

The man God sent me

Today is Noel and I's anniversary; we have been married 7 years. I remember the first date and the first te he took my hand at dinner to pray and thank God for our food and for our time together. I remember the day our first child was born and Noel was so proud that he got teary eyed. The day I had my car accident and Noel was shook up because I could have died.

We have bad enormous memories and experiences in our 7 years. I hope we have continued experiences through out our marriage. I love you Noel and I am grateful and blessed to have you as a husband. You are a Godly man and a wonderful role model to our children.

The 23rd Psalm

Elijah had to learn the 23rd Psalm for Sparks. He did such a great job that I thought I would share it with everyone. Please enjoy.

Treat!

This week the special treat for behaving was that the kids got to build something with daddy. When I worked at Lowes we did Build and Grow every month; this is a project for kids to build. Everything is pre drilled you just have to hammer the nails in the holes. Well I usually took the extras and gave them to charity organizations so that they did not have a cost for that project. Then I collected them for my nephews. My dad had a huge collection. He gave them back when my kids were ready.

It is great thing to do. Your local Lowes still does it once a month. My kids built a napkin holder, two fire trucks, a truck and the famous #48 Lowes racing car.

Date night with Jacob!

Jacob had date night with mommy, daddy and making a special appearance, Nanna Gail. We swam in the new indoor swimming pool at the YMCA. We then and went and had dinner at Cheddar's, Jacob ate corn dogs and French fries. Then we moved to The Marble Slab Creamery where Jacob had a chocolate dipped waffle cone with chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips. After that we went to HEB to get candy for all the kids.

Thank you Nanna Gail for joining us on date night. We love you. Enjoy the pictures we took Jacob's smile says it all.

Billey is a girl with style.

What happens when you have two girls and a girl dog? You get lots of nails that need to be painted hot pink. Now painting Esther and Hannah's nails was easier than Billey's. I have a feeling that her nails will be painted a lot. Poppy Bobby would be thrilled to see these pictures.

Now the kids can checkout 35 books at a time and three movies. They had to sign their cards. This next week I am going to make them library bags with a pocket for their library card. Stay tuned for pictures.

They are doing so well in school and growing up so fast.

Pride comes before the fall!

Being a preacher's kid come with some stereotypes, but no one says that as a preacher's kid and spouse you see all the behind the scenes things that a normal member does not see.

That is what has been going on with my dad for the last five years. People in power who think there should be changes find men in positions with no courage and they get together to form alliances and church becomes a corrupt business instead of a church.

When a pastor does not pray or study God's word with his staff how can he stand in the pulpit and shepherd the congregation when the staff is not being shepherded?

The way I see it the pastor should be the leader and the first one to fall on his face before God. Not be the first person to try to get rid of the men of God in the church that are the ones praying.

So many churches are running their church from the balance sheet instead of on their faces before God asking Him what He wants from the church. When did churches become businesses?

I am so proud of my father who has always been a man in constant pray and meditation with God. The one that does not look at how much someone has but at how he can minister to that person from helping with finances, helping with transportation, taking people to doctor's appointments, sitting with people in hospital rooms, taking people to airports, having people live in his house....etc. As it says my father is not a fan of Christ but a follower.

Is it easy? No and there are times where there is persecution and when other people feel threatened and under conviction being around a man of God. These men want to on the right team but want to be a benchwarmers.

Way to go Dad!!!! Your daughter is proud and humbled. I love you and our family loves you.

What happens?

What happens when you climb a tree and get stuck?

Well if you are one of my children you get your pants stuck and they come off. Instead of your mother helping you down right away she takes a picture for the blog.

I thought you would enjoy it. Have a nice weekend.

Meals on wheels

One of the great things about homeschooling is that we get to do service opportunities when they come up. Our friend Ms. Marcia got us in on Meals on Wheels. Every Friday we go and pick up our food and deliver to a retirement apartment complex.

The people that we deliver to love the kids and all the love they give every Friday. We meet new people, new dogs, and get to be involved with giving of our time to people who need it.

Thank you Ms. Marcia for getting us in on this and we love you all who we deliver to.
